The Life & achievements of a great Mauritian
Renganaden Seeneevassen was a barrister and labour activist who joined the Mauritius Labour Party in 1948 and rose to prominence in the 1950's. He was an exceptionally gifted leader - a visionary who, through his genuineness and his humorous yet engaging oratory style, rallied the masses behind him.
He fought endlessly for the political rights of the underprivileged. He was uncompromising in his efforts to unite a culturally diverse Mauritian society behind a common vision, and eventually nationhood.
Renga was a compassionate man who is remembered for the values he brought to Mauritian politics - ethics, morals, honesty and fairness.

He was born on the 11th April 1911 and passed away on the 5th June 1958. |
